Most Blogged-About Book of the Year

According to the New York Times, the most blogged-about book of the year is Freakonomics. Here is the complete list; and here is a rather exhaustive list of Freakonomics blog citations. (Thanks to Connie Sartain for the links.)

I don't know about most blogged about book in '05 but here in Chapel Hill NC, most "brought on the bus in hardback" has been the latest Harry Potter. As a transit driver for the system that serves both the town and UNC I watch what passengers read on the bus. Whenever someone gets on w/ Freakonomics I try to get them to sit up front and talk about sumo wrestlers & inside knowledge of real estate agents with me.
UNC's freshman summer reading program for '06 was considering Freakonomics, but is now leaning more for "We Regret To Inform You..." about Rwandan genocide. Stephen Dubner's influence is felt in the western part of the state, at ASU, unfortunately not out here in the Piedmont, at UNC.

A Whole Lotta Nothing

One freaky year

According to the NYT, Freakonomics was the most blogged-about book of the year, which isn't too surprising considering how much I read about it on pretty much every blog that mentions books. It is impressive that it beat Harry Potter...

I am disappointed that it wasn't the 7th most blogged about book.
