Gary Becker, Still an Optimist

Peter Robinson interviews Gary Becker about healthcare reform, the future of capitalism, and what this November’s elections will bring. Becker describes himself an optimist, and believes that tales of the death of free markets and personal freedom are overstated: “When I think of my children and grandchildren, yes, they’ll have to fight. Liberty can’t be had on the cheap. But it’s not a hopeless fight. It’s not a hopeless fight by any means. I remain basically an optimist.”[%comments]
