Def Economics Jam

We have been accused of making economics cool. But compared to this Def Poetry Jam performance by Tommy Bottoms, we are bush league. The piece is called “Basic Economics,” and to my mind it is as well-written as it is well-performed. If I were a high-school economics teacher, I’d use it in my class (although truthfully it’s more of an R-rated bit than PG-13). I’d also show it to crack-selling wannabes and people who spend too much time playing the lottery. While this video that Levitt blogged earlier may have been the funniest economics video ever, I’m nominating “Basic Economics” as the all-around greatest.
