Take that, Harry Potter

Don’t blink because it surely will not last long, but for the first time ever Freakonomics just reached #1 on Amazon.com after the 20/20 special. Indeed, by the time you read this it will probably be too late.

For weeks last April and May we were #2 behind Harry Potter and could never make it to the top.

A year later, Harry Potter is also still hanging in there, currently at #40. Some other books that were top sellers a year ago aren’t selling quite so well. Jane Fonda’s autobiography is down in the #10,000 range, even with a new paperback out. Goldie Hawn is at #13,000. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and The World is Flat by Tom Friedman are both still selling a ton.
