WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!!!!
BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK GONE!!!!!
AS COOL AS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PILLOW!!

Only a few of the great phrases that ESPN has brought in to our homes and hearts.

George Hammer

Forget the USA RPS event. That is just a lame beer company promotion It is only a poor copy of the original and Grand Daddy of the sport: The World Rock Paper Scissors Championships http://www.worldrps.com

In my view the big difference is that Bud flies all those winners in to play and give them free beer vs. at the World Championships where people fly in from all over the World on their own dime to compete for the love of the game and the right to call themselves a World Champion.

Whoanellie

Remember when they used to show real sports on ESPN? I guess they've shifted their focus to from the "s" to the "e". Although I'm not entertained.

Princess Leia

Are Steve L's kids entered? I hear one of them is really good!

George

ESPN gave us the word "booyah." so we have that to be thankful for.

Surfer

Could not agree more with Whoanellie; ESPN seems more interested in airing non-athletic competition like RPS or card games than that which actually requires exceptional conditioning, agility and strength such as, well, Surfing. With a full multi-event season already in-place and a rapidly growing US and world-wide fan base and corresponding industry co. ad budgets to match, perhaps execs will have the incentive to come to their senses in time. To me it won't be soon enough!

Prof. S.

A few years ago ESPN announced that they wanted to be more entertainment and less sports. It was about that time that Sportscenter became unwatchable and they really hyped up the most annoying characters they could find - ala Steven A. Smith and Dick Vitale.
