Freakonomics: The Movie Premieres Today

DESCRIPTION

The Freakonomics documentary premieres tonight as the closing gala of the Tribeca Film Festival. It is sold out, but before tonight’s screening you can join the directors and Dubner (and maybe even Levitt, if the tailwinds from Chicago are strong enough) for a discussion about the film at New York’s Apple Store Soho, 103 Prince Street, at 6PM, free and open to the public. There’s also second screening on Sat., May 1, with a panel discussion afterward.
The film, which will be released in theaters in late summer/early fall, is composed of segments by an all-star team of documentary filmmakers, including Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room; Taxi to the Dark Side); Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me); Eugene Jarecki (Why We Fight); Seth Gordon (The King of Kong); and Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady (Jesus Camp).
So if the film tanks, the only people to blame would be Levitt and Dubner.
