The Economics of Law School like was great, but the article linked with it was even better.

Law schools offer a merit scholarships, but grading on the curve statistically guarantees that half of the recipients will lose their scholarship in the first year.

Univerisity of Florida Law offers two merit scholarships, a guarateed $9k for all three years, or $15k but you must maintain a 3.25. 90% take the risker $15k and "a significant number lose their scholarships." Perfect game theory, almost all participants beleive that they are better than their peers, but fail to recognize that their peer group has changed from undergrad to law school.

"now more expensive than 4 years of college"
